The idea for Salty Waffles was born during our travels — from biting into a perfect Belgian waffle in Brussels to savoring crispy Reibekuchen on the streets of Cologne. Frequently asked questions
Is everything at Salty Waffles gluten-free?
All our food is gluten-free: every waffle, topping and sauce. Some drinks, such as regular beer, contain gluten. Ask us which drinks are gluten-free.
Are your waffles made with flour?
No, well, not the flour you’re thinking of. Our waffles are made from fresh grated potato pressed in a waffle iron. There’s no wheat flour in the batter, because there’s no actual batter (except our special Salty Waffle recipe of course).
Is Salty Waffles safe for people with coeliac (celiac) disease?
We don’t prepare any food containing gluten, our equipment is used only for gluten-free food, and we check the allergen information of every ingredient. We aren’t certified and don’t lab-test, so if you’re very sensitive, ask us to show you the ingredient labels.
Do you cater for other allergies?
Some of our toppings contain milk, egg, fish and mustard. Tell us about your allergy when you order and we’ll tell you what’s in each waffle or check out our allergen list here.
